Merrill Creek Migration Barrier Removal Project

The Migration Barrier Removal Project at Merrill Creek was completed by Siskiyou County Department of Public Works in 2002. The culvert (left) was replaced with a post-stressed concrete slab bridge. This Project was funded through the California Department of Fish and Game and County In-Kind Matching Funds. The completion of this project restored access to approximately 4 miles of habitat for coho salmon and steelhead trout. This project was identified by Ross Taylor and Associates as the 5th highest priority project in Siskiyou County.
