Clark's Creek Migration Barrier Removal Project
The Migration Barrier Removal Project at Clark's Creek and Walker Road in Del Norte County was completed in 2002. This project was prioritized under the Five Counties Migration Barrier Inventory as the highest priority project in Del Norte County and as the 3rd highest priority project within the 5 Counties. The implementation of this project restored access to 1.4 miles of habitat for Chinook, coho, steelhead, and cutthroat trout. The project was completed thanks to the hard work of the following company and agencies: Winzler and Kelly Consulting Engineers, California Department of Fish and Game, California State Parks, California Conservation Corps, and Del Norte County Division of Roads, Engineering and Surveying

Phase I - Site Preparation:
Close Walker Road, Install Fish Screens, Remove Fish and Vegetation From Project Area

Phase II - Demolition and Site Preparation:
Remove Existing Wood Culvert, Excavate Stream Bottom, Install Rock Slope Protection, Install Prefabricated Concrete Bridge Footings

Phase III - Bridge Installation:
Install Big R Bridge Sections, Revegetate Project Area
