Moving Ahead
with Migration Barrier Removal. Mendocino County began its
Migration Barrier Removal Program in 2001 with the completion of 3 Migration
Barrier Modification Projects on Branscomb Road. Together, these three
projects restored access to approximately 2.4 miles of habitat for steelhead
trout. Since then, the County has completed 6 additional projects. The County
has slated 1 project for construction in 2007, Ryan Creek. All project
have restored access to 15 miles of spawning and rearing habitat.
